Hey all, I'm a mid 40s guy with pro gear looking for someone to jam and write with. I don't drink or smoke cigarettes, but I don't care if you do or anyone else does, it's just a choice I made for health reasons.
I'm all over the rock spectrum, but I can jump in right away with classic rock, active rock, punk, hardcore, (pop punk, melodic hardcore, ska, ska punk, all of the adjacent DIY genres,) thrash, metalcore, old school heavy metal. My listening sort of went a different direction in the mid 1990s... I like Metallica, Anthrax, Iron Maiden, Ozzy but I'm not into anything extreme. I like hair bands, new wave, yacht rock, indi, first generation emo...
I don't have a lot of boundaries EXCEPT that I have to have some groove and melody involved. I won't play blast beats, (I don't enjoy it, I'm not good at it, and I'm not interested in learning) and I don't want to be in a band that is ALL cookie monster/gutteral/screaming/shrieking vocals. I appreciate a singer who has the ability to spice things up with a well placed scream or a grunt, or even a full, forceful chorus if the song calls for it. I'm thinking of bands like Atreyu, Suicide Machines, AFI, The Used, etc. as I'm describing this.
So, if you're interested in anything on the rock spectrum, anywhere between Hall and Oates and something like Pantera or Gojira on the other end, give me a shout.
