A local asphalt paving company is seeking a sharp, highly organized, and tech-savvy Office & Marketing Operations Partner. This is a 1099 independent contractor position for someone who wants to run our administrative workflow.
This is NOT a quiet corporate desk job. You will be working directly in the rugged heavy construction industry. The ideal candidate needs a unique mix of strong computer skills to handle digital systems, thick skin to deal with customers, and the physical stamina to handle large weekly marketing mailings.
Key Responsibilities:
Online Permitting & Compliance (Tech Savvy): You will completely own our permitting process. Because permits are handled entirely online and over the phone, you must be highly proficient with computers. You will navigate various municipal portals, track approvals, upload documentation, and ensure our crew is cleared before we pour.
Marketing & Physical Logistics (Field/Mail): You will run our weekly direct-mail marketing campaign. Every week, you will utilize the USPS online mapping tool, count and bundle 5,000 heavy marketing flyers into exact postal stacks, load them into your vehicle, and physically drop them off at the local post office branches.
Customer Service Buffer: Serve as our primary point of contact for clients. You will handle inbound calls, navigate demanding customer inquiries with professional confidence, manage warranty tracking, and insulate the owner from daily administrative noise.
Requirements:
Highly Computer Savvy: Proficient with web-based portals, digital filing, online mapping tools, and standard office software. You must be someone who figures out software easily.
Physical Logistics: Must have a reliable vehicle capable of hauling boxes of printed materials. Daily work includes routine counting, stacking, and lifting bundles of flyers (20–40 lbs regular lifting required).
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record for weekly post office runs.
Strong verbal communication—comfortable standing your ground with demanding clients and municipal workers over the phone.
Past exposure to landscaping, asphalt, construction trades, or a similar field environment is preferred.
